The TRON foundation is pushing back the Warren Buffett Lunch and press conferences to an unspecified date.

Tron founder Justin Sun who successfully procured the lunch with Buffett by winning the affiliated charity auction —  is currently out of commission due to kidney stones, and associated parties have agreed to reschedule the lunch.

“Thanks to friends from all walks of life for their concerns, I was in a hospital for sudden kidney stones, and I canceled the lunch with Mr. Buffett. At present, the physical condition is all stable and in the recovery period. So I cannot accept the interview. Please forgive me. The donation to the Glide Foundation has been completed and is still valid.” (Posted on Sun’s Weibo).

In June, Justin Sun revealed that he had bid a record-breaking $4.57 million to win the charity lunch with Warren Buffet, the third richest person in the world. As of Monday, Sun had lined up Circle’s Jeremy Allaire, Huobi’s Chris Lee, eToro’s Yoni Assia and litecoin creator Charlie Lee to join him.

Sun made the announcement on Twitter and Weibo (Twitter equivalent in China), which soon became one of the heatedly discussed hashtags on both social media platforms.

“Fake news. Clearly some ulterior motives here. Biggest lunch date with the biggest brain in investment is ‘cancelled’ due to kidney stones. You’re kidding. Completely coincidental timing for such a health episode. Buffet said he doesn’t want to waste his time. Simple”

Tron has long been a contentious blockchain project, particularly after its founder claimed it is superior to Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap. While the project is labeled by many in the Chinese crypto community as a scam.

As an outspoken entrepreneur with more than 1 million followers on Weibo (Twitter-like social media in China), Sun is one of the most contentious crypto celebrities in China. After Sun’s announcement released, many Chinese suspected that Sun has never won lunch with Buffett at all, he just gives himself an out as the scheduled time approaching. Early as Sun won the auction, some people were worried about the  potential politics risks brought by auction.
