PBoC’s Fintech Research Institute is Hiring Blockchain Talents
The People’s Bank of China, the country’s central bank, has been ramping up its efforts in blockchain development as a fintech research institute established by it is hiring blockchain developers and financial specialists.
According to the recruitment notice issued by PBoC’s Shenzhen Fintech Research Institute, the institute is looking for blockchain experts and fintech specialists with a total of 29 job openings posted. Among the 29 positions it has opened, three are required to have blockchain-related expertise.
Specifically, they are seeking a blockchain development engineer, a blockchain architect and a cryptography engineer. The requirements for the roles include an in-depth knowledge of blockchain technology, experience in distributed network, smart contract and peer-to-peer protocols.
Apart from these tech engineers, the institute is also planning to hire a researcher in finance and a director of trade finance products.
The Shenzhen Fintech Research Institute is a unit jointly launched by the PBoC’s Digital Currency Research Institute, the Shenzhen Local Financial Supervision Bureau and the Futian District People’s Government, mainly engaged in fintech and digital currency-related projects initiated by the country’s central bank. The unit has been involved in the development of “Greater Bay Area Blockchain Trade Finance Platform” last fall.
Last October, the PBoC has opened four positions for blockchain-related professionals at its Digital Currency Institute, seeking engineers that would develop software and hardware systems for digital money – an area which the central bank has been actively working on.
