Over 600 companies offer 3,000 blockchain jobs in China

According to data from the 2018 Q1 Human Resources Attraction Report released by BOSS Zhipin, blockchain, which is considered to subvert the traditional financial industry, has become a hot spot. Many large financial institutions have stepped up efforts to recruit blockchain talents. Over 600 companies are offering more than 3,000 blockchain-related vacancies with high salary.

According to the data, in 2018, the internal turnover rate in the Internet industry was as high as 63%, AI and blockchain became the most-wanted fields for high-level technical talents. In the past year, the supply of talent in the two fields has doubled.

The blockchain has become the largest outlet in the industry since 2018, and the limelight has almost covered artificial intelligence.

The data provided by the BOSS Zhipin Research Institute shows that in the first two months of this year, the recruitment demand for blockchain-related talent has reached 9.7 times of the same period in 2017. From January to February 2018, the number of companies that released blockchain related posts increased by 4.6 times year-on-year. Talent supply increased by 235% year-on-year. Although the growth rate was higher than other internet jobs, the supply was still far below the actual demand.

In terms of recruiting companies, most of them are related to three sectors: Internet finance, computer software and enterprise services, which account for over 50% of total demands. Among these companies, 51% of them are start-up companies that has completed A round funding. In terms of company size, companies with less than 100 employees account for 62%.

It’s found on several recruitment websites that there are currently more than 3,000 positions related to blockchain and all of them are highly paid. The hiring companies are mostly listed companies and financial technology companies.

Blockchain posts are also highly diversified, including blockchain researchers, development engineers, investment analysts, writers, business product managers, and technical experts. The annual salary of ordinary blockchain architects is nearly 900,000 yuan. The annual salary of technical director is more than 2 million yuan.

It is worth noting that among these recruitment companies, there are many Internet giants such as Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, and Jingdong, as well as listed companies such as Ping An Bank, Zhong An Technology, Qihoo 360 and other financial institutions.

However, despite the number of talents who wish to transfer to emerging areas are increasing every day, the quality of them is not evenly distributed.

“The work experience and skillset are different from the company’s requirements. Senior professionals who fully satisfy the company’s requirements are still hard to find.”

The reporter found that more than 80% of blockchain-related jobs require 3 or more skills. In addition to mastering commonly used development languages, technical talent also needs cryptography, consensus algorithms, Hyperledger and smart contracts, etc.
