Joint-interview: on Collaboration between WINGS and China’s Antshare
When it comes to bitcoin and blockchain technology, China and Western community walk shoulder to shoulder. The deep collaboration between WINGS, a DAOs platform based on a Switzerland registered Foundation, and Antshare, China’s leading open-source blockchain project, is just a proof. The partnership between the two will help them to bring their projects to the counterpart geographical markets.
8btc has just held a joint interviewed of the managers of the 2 sides. The following is the verbatim of the interview.
Sebastian, project manager of WINGS and David Li, head of overseas operations of Antshare.
8btc: How are you two going to cooperate, the means and areas?
Jointly:We look to coordinate resources on mutual business opportunities, and promote joint hackathons to drive ecosystem innovation.
We also look to advance the cryptocurrency ecosystem and establish new standards for safe funding of projects and companies.
8btc: Can you shed light on some technical details?
Jointly:We look to collaborate on:
Research and development of atomic swaps protocol for cross-blockchain support.
8btc:WINGS is doing a worldwide crowdfunding campaign now, what is your take on the Chinese market?
Sebastian:WINGS finds the Chinese market to be one of the most promising technological markets in the world. It has become a leading force of innovation and technological prosperity. We believe that China will play an important role in the shaping of the WINGS platform. We have only recently started doing some promotional marketing about WINGS in China, but we have full intent on focusing energies in getting WINGS to become a recognized and respected project in China.
8btc:What do you think of Chinese blockchain startups?
Sebastian: During our visit in China last month we met with many blockchain project teams including Metaverse, Antshares and others. It is becoming clear that Chinese blockchain startups are working on real problems and are approaching them in a scientific and professional way.
8btc:Except from Antshares, will you cooperate with other Chinese blockchain teams?
Sebastian: We are very excited about our partnership with Antshares and are looking forward to our joint work. We will also be cooperating with other Chinese blockchain teams, announcements will be made public in due time, after all the details have been finalized.
8btc:What are your expectations of this ICO?
Sebastian:Our backing campaign started off very promising; there are still more than 43 days to the campaign and we believe more and more people will recognize what WINGS is trying to achieve and of course the opportunity at hand, and participate in our campaign.
As we bring a new standard into the crypto world being the first fully legal and regulatory compliant decentralized crowdfunding platform developer, based on a Swiss foundation (established by the same legal firm which did the Ethereum foundation), we excited to see so many participants taking part, helping to make the crypto backing accessible for the mainstream projects.
Also one of the most important things for a platform that offers a service is to experience the service it offers. WINGS campaign provides to us a lot of priceless knowledge and experience, both in technological and marketing terms, that we intend to learn from, and apply to project DAOs that will be running on WINGS.
8btc:In what ways WINGS is different from The DAO?
Sebastian:Main Differences between WINGS and ‘The DAO’:
- Model – WINGS is not a decentralized VC but rather a facilitation platform; It provides smart contract templates and the needed tools to easily setup new project DAOs. Each new DAO on top of WINGS is individual and independent, with its own set of tokens, customized smart contracts and funding process.
- Accessibility & Promotional tools – The implementation of Chatbots (and ChatHubs – like we have in our Telegram group which is a merge between Telegram and Slack) that allow easy access to major project features in order to increase user participation and involvement. WINGS also provides project creators tools that allow them to create their own community and involve it in the project, even before the project crowdfunding has started.
- Forecasts Markets & Ratings – Absolutely anyone can submit a new DAO proposal to the platform. WINGS introduces incentivized forecasting by allowing (and rewarding) token holders to forecast on specific proposal factors (such as success in crowdfunding, release of milestones, etc). Token holders also have the ability to mark such a project proposal as spam or inappropriate, thus allowing for decentralized project filtering (or so called ‘curation’). The quality of the forecasts affect the user’s forecast rating, which plays several roles as well.
- Decentralization &Blockchain Support – As mentioned previously, WINGS allows anyone to submit project DAO proposals and it does so in a decentralized manner. Using the blockchain for storing metadata and IPFS for file storage, anyone can download the WINGS software and access the network from their own computer. Also, WINGS will support a variety of smart contracts of different blockchains, starting with the Bitcoin blockchain via RSK.
There are other differences however i would say those are the main ones.
8btc:Antshares Just released its Virtual Machine. How is it supposed to connect with WINGS platform and WINGS DAO projects?
8btc:What are the Highlights of Antshares VM that you just released?
Daivd:After a comparison on Bitcoin VM, EVM and VM of Fabric (the so-called “Docker”), Antshares VM was designed to be based on OpCode.
Antshares VM has a good performance, Turing-Complete logic control and flexible data interoperability between onchain and offchain data. Advanced languages are supported with corresponding compilers as well. It is also capable of customized systemic functionalities to support any designated blockchain.
8btc:When projects like Bitrees and WeLand will be using Antshares to conduct digitization? Are there any complicated procedures involved?
Daivd:Bitrees and WeLand have completed the digitization and asset registration.
We are working with WeLand to help design its asset securitization. It’s expected to go online along with one of their fundraising campaigns.
Kaipai.com, (a filmmaker/movie startup platform) is another partner of ours who has completed digitization. We expect them to coordinate a series of actions on registration, circulation and sales of their new projects.
8btc:What software updates we can expect in the near future?
Daivd :We have a series of changes planned for the current Web Wallet. We are thinking about limiting maximum built-in address number in the Antshares Web Wallet to 1, which will go live in the next major update. This is designed to change the address-based asset management mentality to a wallet-based one. By doing so, we can significantly improve the experience and security for less tech-sophisticated users.
Other updates include: Improvement on overseas connection experience; Fixes to multiple known BUGs. These will come along with the next major update.
Our designer is in place to offer updates on UI and graphics.
In the end of the day, we aim to differentiate users: experienced crypto geeks may prefer our Windows client, which has more functionalities but also being more compliacated.
