May 29, China Everbright Group has formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com. The cooperation between China Everbright Group and JD.com mainly focus on the digital transformation in different areas including the technological innovation, health care, tourism, e-commerce, logistics, and environmental protection.

In the field of financial services, China Everbright Group and Jingdong Finance will further promote the cooperation in payment, insurance, trust business, fund investment and other business. China Everbright Group is looking forward to jointly explore new cloud payment service model and new insurance business model with JD.com. Under the agreement, these two groups will work together in direct investment fund business in the near future.

JD.com will share its technology capabilities and know-how in blockchain and IoT to help China Everbright Group complete its Fintech innovation. According to the agreement, China Everbright Group and JD.com will strengthen the cooperation in IoT finance, blockchain, and cloud computing.

In this regard, they will conduct research particularly on the process and applications in IoT payment services. By using blockchain distributed ledger technology, they also plan to jointly develop applications in tracing and anti-counterfeiting, smart contracts, and information sharing services.

China Everbright Group and JD.com are also trying to build a Fintech Innovation Lab and to establish a Fintech innovation industry fund in order to incubate the cutting-edge technical projects.

China Everbright Bank had reached a strategic cooperation with JD Finance in August 2018. At present, JD Finance and Everbright Bank have cooperated in the fields of cloud bill-payment, syndicated loan, risk control, financial products sales, credit card issuance.

JD Finance and Everbright Bank has jointly launched The Everbright Whit Card in both UnionPay and Visa versions. Their cloud payment service is also avaliable in JD Finance APP.
