2,500 Bitmain’s Antminer B3 for Bytom Mining Sold Out Within Seconds
China’s bitcoin mining giant and ASIC chips manufacturer Bitmain rolled out the much-anticipated Antminer B3, a new Antminer model for specifically mining Bytom(BTM), at 11:00 a.m. (GMT+8) April 25. The new listing quickly drew interest from would-be buyers, and surprisingly, the first batch of 2,500 miners were sold out within seconds.
The Antminer B3 is priced at 17,000 Yuan, or $2,453, per unit, according to Bitmain’s website. The company is limiting orders to “1 unit per customer” with restriction on shipping to Hong Kong. The shipping for this batch will start on a first-paid-first ship basis on 1st May 2018 for orders that Bitmain has received full payment for.
The Antminer B3 is supposed to offer 780 H/s mining hash rate with 360 Watts of power usage. Although data may prove the stable performance of these miners, the users of Antminer B3 to mine Bytom still need to pay heed to several key issues.
Bytom is a public blockchain platform designed to transfer assets from atomic world to byte world. Its token distribution mechanism shows that 33% of Bytom is reserved for mining rewards, and mining machines must be equipped with AI ASIC accelerating chips. And the Antminer B3 just perfectly meets the requirements of Bytom miners to gain profits.
Bytom has integrated a matrix and convolution calculation into the hashing process, making miners friendlier to AI ASICs than GPU and CPU. On one hand, the soaring demand for Antminer B3 will stimulate the growth of the AI market and drive up the demand for deep learning ASIC chips. On the other hand, obsolete and idle mining machines can be applied to the AI hardware acceleration service, reducing their minging costs.
It is safe to say that Antminer B3 will build a bridge between AI and blockchain, bringing the two cutting-edge technologies closer together.
Bytom mainnet was launched at 14:00 (GMT+8) on April 24 along with the unveiling of Bytom Web and Bytom wallet. As of press time, BTM is trading around $ 0.969, and its market cap has hit $955 million, according to CoinMarketCap.
